The Internet of Things is here and it has created a huge opportunity for service. As we have shared during Maximize and other events over the past few months, field service and smart, connected products go hand in hand. Today we're thrilled to announce the launch of Connected Field Service, a joint offering from ServiceMax and PTC, leveraging PTC's ThingWorx IoT platform.

What’s Connected Field Service?

Connected Field Service delivers the field service industry’s first solution that seamlessly integrates IoT-connected machines' data with a field service delivery system. It enables ‘smart’ machines to initiate service requests, provides technicians with connected diagnostics, enables remote service and offers contextual insight into repair procedures. By tapping into the IoT, Connected Field Service dramatically increases the level of intelligence with which technicians can operate in the field and improves the quality of service they’re able to provide.

We're thrilled to be working with a number of ServiceMax customers as early adopters of this technology including Kevin Rusin at McKinley Equipment and Mark Taylor at Elekta.
