The customer would like to know if we have a webservice we can share that will allow them to automatically create conditional based PM Plans when a contract is activated or if the functionality is on the road map. If not, what fields are required to manually create a conditional based PM Plan and have it successfully create a WO.

There is no Standard webservice for automatically creating a condition-based PM Plan from an SCON upon Contract Activation. You can manually create a Condition-Based PM Plan from the Service contract using the standard SFM Wizard button. In order to successfully create a Condition-Based PM Plan, you will need to select a condition-based pm plan template, which will automatically select coverages from the SCON that match the Product defined on the template. Keep in mind that if you want to have multiple coverage lines on a single Condition-Based PM Plan, they will have to be all the same product, as Condition-Based PMs do not support multiple types of products using a single PM Plan Template. The template (and auto-mapping) will populate most of the other fields in the SFM for you, but you will also need to indicate Start/End date of the PM Plan.

The Product Team has added this to the list of enhancement considerations going forward. 

I'd like a little more detail into the customer's use case for this idea. For example:

  • How many covered devices do they typically have on their SCONs?
  • How many of those covered devices are of the same product?
  • Would they expect to have multiple condition-based PM Plans generated automatically from the SCON?

If we provide automated condition-based PM Plan Creation for SCON in the future, keep in mind that the user will need to configure multiple PM Offerings (with different condition-based PM Plan templates) on their Service Plan to account for SCON coverages that span multiple products. This may have the potential to present a processing risk, so the Product Team will be considering it carefully.
