Anyone having issues seeing photos in browser (notes & attachments) that were added via ServiceMax Spring 15 for iPhone?

Jump to solution

We have a few techs using ServiceMax Spring 15 app for iPhone and we notice something weird today and not sure where exactly the problem is at.  Most of our techs use an iPad but we have a few using their iPhone/Spring 15 for iPhone and It seems that if the tech loads images via the iPhone, other users can't see the files in the browser.  Now if an Admin goes to the same work order, we see all the attachments.  We also notice that the service report that they do from the iPhone does show up and can be seen by all users.  I confirmed that if the user loads the images via the IPad there are no issues and also if one loads them via the browser everyone can see them.  Only seems to affect the iPhone.    Mike Monin

Hi Susan

The issue was reported in the 15.20.003 build of the iPad app, but had been addressed by the time we updated to the 15.20.017 build of the same.

Hope this helps

Greg

Hi Tye Barnes,

Yeah, we had the same issue but with the iPad, not the iPhone, it was a bug that was addressed in an update to the app from the app store, in the interim we had a batch job that ran through Jitterbit which changed the settings from private to public accessibility which allowed the files to be seen by the remainder of the required parties.

I have not had the experience with the iPhone app, but it may be that the issue was raised about the iPad app and not about the iPhone app.

Hi Greg,

Do you recall what version you were on when you had the issue?

Thanks Greg, that's correct.  This issue was addressed in a newer build of Servicemax.  Summer 15 SP is currently the latest, at version 15.6, and has this fix as well.

Thanks,

Chris,

We have Summer 15 in our sandbox and it still has the issue.  Now keep in mind that this has to do with the ServiceMax app for iPhone.  We do not have any issues with our users that use the iPad.  We have a handful of users that use the iPhone.  Did any of you try it using the iPhone or just the iPad?

Thanks,

Susan

Hi Susan,

This was in fact just on the iPad that this fix was tested on.  It sounds like a potential permission issue with the Ipad application, unless it is a defect.  Either way, I would suggest opening a case on this for investigation.  We can review the logs on the Ipad and/or iPhone and see where the breakdown is.

There's also been new versions of all apps published recently to the app store, so it would be worthwhile to remove the app on the iPhone and retry with the newer version.

Thanks,

ChrisM.

Hi Chris,

Thanks.  Yes I have already opened a case and they are looking into it.  They haven't mentioned that this was a known problem before but they are still looking into it.

Thanks,

Susan
