[Right now we are only using the iPad app for Field Technicians]
But our field technicians downloaded the iPhone app or the Android app - without me making any changes to the configuration - would it still run OK?
Has anyone ever had to make separate SFMs for different devices?
(I have had to create different SFMs for Browser vs. Mobile before - would i need to make an iPad version, Android version, or iPhone version?)
I understand that some features are not available on all devices - this is more about compatibility and any required configuration changes for supporting multiple devices
Any feedback would be very interesting to hear!!

Alex Langston if you are on Spring 15 I would keep a look out for the following if you are trying to utilize SFM's made for iPad on an iPhone.
-Context used in lookup filters
-Advanced Lookup filters
-Linked SFM Processes
There are other differences as well but those are the most common elements I can think of you would need to keep an eye out for.
soooo this is basically what i was looking for - thanks!
so far we have not really utilized linked processes or advanced lookup filters for iPad users (only browser users) so good on that
context used in lookup filters...so the svmx.currentrecordheader.api_name stuff right?
Would it still work if the current record/header record was part of the SFM transaction definition?
Still not 100% on how the context works - usually just replicate a context i know works and go from there
that doesn't sound so bad.
has any one tried the same SFM trans on the android app?
Alex Langston Context filters are different then SFM Literals. You would use context filters to filter a lookup field by comparing source data on the SFM Page layout (for example location) to the records you are searching through. A very helpful feature!
See below for details.
Ahhhh - Ok, so check this:
Context Filter set up for Contact Lookup - to show only Contact records that have Account match to current record
iPad - context filter would work - would only show subset of all contact record on the device
iPhone - context filter would NOT work - would show all contact records on the device
right...?
Exactly. For iPhone, advanced lookup filter settings would also not work.

Hi Alex Langston
Thank you for posting here in the community.
I see that Mark Boyer provided the link to the ServiceMax Users Guide on Compatibility Matrix and Features Vs. App Matrix. Did you get a chance to check it out? The information provided in the user Guide is Outstanding!
If the link that Mark provided answered your question, I encourage you to mark your question answered.

Alex Langston Hi Alex, Please advice if it is possible to add attachments under SFM transation screen?
The below screen shot is WO creation SFM , the requirment is to upload attachment is it possible...
i am newbie to servicemax ..
Here we are almost 2 years later - anyone have any additional comments on this?
Specifically around multiple device types with the FSA app?
What about multiple device types used concurrently by a single user - does this cause any syncing issues or confusion for users perhaps?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Alex - I would definitely be interested in more information and use cases for the FSA app + multiple devices. I'll even add to this the usage of different devices & apps between direct employees and subcontractors (we have our subcontractors as Partners in our Org).
