Mobile apps - version control

Jump to solution

Hi,

I´m wondering if there is anything on the roadmap for us to be able to control which mobile app is in use in our environment plus which version of that mobile app is allowed for users?

We want our users to switch to the ServiceMax Go app which is proving to be a challenge and is causing extra work trying to get users to switch and on top of that to preferably use the latest versions.

We have no provisioning options to control this aspect which is not giving us any proactive options in guiding users to the versions that will give the best experience.

Any thoughts on this from the product team?

Best regards,

Gunnar

@gunnareinars @nschmitz  In 1.8, we are providing a way for the admin to control the minimum version that the app user should use.  With this, connections from lower versions will be rejected.

This is available from 1.8 onwards. Please watch the Maximize 2021's breakout session titled "ServiceMax Go Mobile Product Roadmap" for some more information!

@gunnareinars Yes we do have some plans around this year. We had a User Group Virtual Webinar last year where we started to talk about this.

We also have our Maximise this year virtually which will have our roadmap and plans for this.

@Nicole_Guzzo can you point him to the location of that content from last year?

We are also looking to such a functionality to ensure that our field service engineers always have the latest version of the FSA app (and in future GO) installed/updated.
