As a company that uses a self-dispatch in most markets, we rely heavily on technicians being able to view work order data via different searches that we define under the Explore tab in ServiceMax Go.
As default in Go, the option for "Include online results" is set to OFF, which works for the majority of searches that we use. This is because all the important data is held locally on the device as its downloaded via the download criteria, therefore it appears in the searches without having to search online.
However, in some cases, we want to utilise searches that search outside of the defined download criteria, such as a search for "Find any installed product by ID number", or "Find all historic work orders by account number", where its not practical to include these records in the download criteria.
In this scenario, it would be really useful to have a configuration option for ServiceMax admins to indicate that "Include online results" should default to ON, for a specific search section (defined in ServiceMax Setup > Service Flow Manager > Search Designer).
This would save time for the technicians because currently they have to toggle the switch to search online, every time they want to use a search that goes outside the download criteria. Defaulting it to ON for specific searches (not all!) via setup would be the ideal solution.
