Advanced Ability to control Wizards that show in iPad/MFL and Browse

Currently via Wizard Layout, we can control what wizards show in the Browser regardless of its Criteria.  This allows for control of the Browser, but not our Client Apps.  It would be nice if we could have a Wizard Layout for iPad/MFL as well.

Reason for ask:  Some companies would like to have wizards show on Browser only.

We just encountered this request with Orr where one set of transactions should be accessible in browser only, but other transactions for that profile need to be available on both browser and iPad. We can leverage user profile or role attributes to control access to buttons or wizards; however, we cannot currently control access by environment (client/server).

This would allow us to manage the work flow of the engineers.

We requested similar functionality as well and were told it would be coming in Spring '16. In the past week, it looks like it's moving to Summer '16 instead. The new feature will give one an sfm toggle to select Browser, Mobile, or Both.

Hi Michael Majerus

Sorry to hear you believed and heard this was planned for the Spring 16 release.  We started talking about this while we were working on Spring 16, but the scope of this feature was too large to incorporate into Spring 16 itself.  Our current target is Summer 16 as you noted.

Thanks,
Colby

Hello Colby. Thank you for the confirmation about Summer 16'. The issue we are trying to solve prior to our June 20 go-live for our Cloud Sherpas WO refactoring and mobile project is to prohibit custom actions from being exposed to our technicians who will adopting MFL for the first time. In prior versions of ServiceMax Custom actions would not be visible on mobile, since they are not compatible.  In Winter 16 which we are going live with, custom actions are visible even though they are not compatible. Please let me know if you have any ideas about how to restrict this to ensure a smooth MFL experience at go-live. SMax Case 00034613  Thank you!

Michael MajerusTed Gordon - Has this been addressed via SFM App Permission? If not I would like to understand this requirement further.

Hi Anita!

The The SFM app setup meets my expectations and is very helpful!   Now that we can also have different Mobile Config per device type makes for a very powerful solution with a lot of flexibility.

Thank you Anita and Product Team!

Yes Anita D'Souza, with Autumn '17 we can now assign SFMs to browser vs mobile. Thank you!
