At Energir, we have technicians that move events (non-availabilities and work orders) on their mobile. In many circumstances they should not. It would be better if ServiceMax configuration could allow or prevent the move of these. Ideally configuration would be at event type level.
At Energir, non-availabilities and work orders are planned in an external system. It does not make sense to have the technician changing his calendar of work orders since his schedule is managed externally. Some non-availability types may be moved by the technicians but not all types.
What is the underlying problem do you intend to solve with this idea?
Technicians has the possibility to move their work orders and non-availability directly on their calendar (Mobile).
How is the problem being addressed today, if at all?
@Christian Edit Events should be possible only if the user has Edit permission on the object (Edit Events incase of Salesforce Events). Is it feasible to remove this permission from techs?
For us, all events are created via apex based on integrations with an external system, or updates from the user (e.g. they start work slightly later than planned, so the event start time is shifted).
So our event edit permissions are editable and we would like to keep that, but would like some configuration in GO to enable us to disable access to move/change events from the calendar view
