We recently changed the event subject to include core data for our engineers to see in the iPad calendar on the FSA app. Unfortunately there is a character limit of 80 characters, which is unknown until you try to dispatch a work order to an engineer and the subject is longer than 80 characters without manually modifying it to be less then 80 characters then you cannot dispatch the work order. It would be better to include this parameter in the Event Subject Rules or better still extend this, the event window on the calendar clearly has enough room to pass more than 80 characters and I am told it is a product limitation.

What is the underlying problem do you intend to solve with this idea?
Have to have the event subject rule trimmed to avoid this conflict.
How is the problem being addressed today, if at all?
Manually doctoring the event subject rule to meet the 80 character limit.

We have run into this issue too. I am guessing the limitation is because of the name field being used as the subject. Can we make it configurable to switch to a different field and provide the API name in the settings?

I typically create a formula field and display it in FSA Calendar. Works better than Event Subject Rules.

It is possible to customize Calendar display by creating a custom formula field. Not supported in Monthly View

Edit Settings SET005 (Salesforce Event) or SET006 (ServiceMax Event) and add custom formula field created above
