With regards to "forcing" a configuration sync, we continue to consider options. One issue is that we don't want techs to lose their entered data by forcing a configuration sync before their data are saved. To this extent, we have considered blocking all sync activities and creating persistent reminders until the technician chooses to allow the configuration sync to proceed.
I'm curious about your thoughts around this proposed solution.
Thanks for the response Colby - I did not know about the sync reports, this will help me out a lot.
I do appreciate your concern about techs losing data - could you design "forced configuration syncs" such that the process has a data sync built in on the front end?
There could be logic then that would halt configuration sync unless the data sync was completed successfully.
Taking this even further, it may be worth considering adding a data sync on the front end of every config sync - this would then guarantee that each user had saved their data prior to changing app configuration.
Thanks again Christopher. I like your idea of bundling a data sync with a config sync. For reasons beyond these posts, we actually want the data sync to occur after the configuration sync; architecturally, this ends up being a better choice.
is it something possible at the end off data synch to compare the configuration on the server and on the users tools in order to donwload new criteria.
today the solution it based on action done by the end users. It's not possible when you manage more than 1000 users arround the world.

"Push Configuration" is something we are planning to add to our mobile apps.
When there is a configuration change, we will use mobile notification to silently notify the mobile apps that there is a new configuration setting and that it needs to download it. Download of configuration data will be triggered and updated configuration will be downloaded automatically.
This sounds great Joseph. We are currently releasing new features/config every week and have to constantly remind the techs to do a config sync otherwise they will get errors and strange results.
@Joseph June. Could you please let us know target release of this feature? This would be very useful feature for us. We are also looking for feature to send push notification or broadcast Technicians when they are using older version App and asking them to upgrade the app instead of through email.
