GO - SFM Validation Rule does not work if fields in the SFM Validation Rule are not on page layout

Servicemax GO - SFM Validation Rule does not work if fields referenced in the SFM Validation Rule are not contained within the SFM page Layout.

Comments from customer Zip Industries:

====

SFM transaction on which Validation rule is configured is a global action. We cannot just add this to the page as our other business units do not use the field and they would then see a field that is completely irrelevant.

This is a feedback information to ServiceMax Engineering/Product teams to look at the behaviour within the FSA app where the field is not required to be on the page layout to execute the warning message, however the same is required on ServiceMax Go app.

As a temporary work-around, we will go ahead and clone the SFM transaction and create a country specific page layout so as not to affect or other business units.

What is the underlying problem do you intend to solve with this idea?
Customer cannot add field to the page as other business units do not use the field and they would then see a field that is completely irrelevant.
How is the problem being addressed today, if at all?
By creating a separate SFM for different business units.
