On the Mobile Platform for a Field Engineer Configuration profile the Technician Name should get auto defaulted. This will save lot of productive time of the Technicians who have to create multiple labor, travel and expense entries on a daily basis.
When we know who have logged in to the Mobile platform we should be able to default it.
Also the behavior should be consistent on the MFL. For the Web we will need flexibility in which the lookup is not restricted since Service managers are at times liable to fill in debrief on behalf of the Technicians.
There was a workaround provided by SVMX [Case# 00064288] is clunky and leads to more clicks then reduction.
What is the underlying problem do you intend to solve with this idea?
Enhance the productivity of the Technician as their main focus is accomplish more and more jobs not spend lot of time in clicking and navigating through the mobile application and fill the debrief.
How is the problem being addressed today, if at all?
We added specific Download criteria to limit the Technician download on the Mobile, turned Off the Org wide setting of Lookup search if there is only one record returned. Added SFM Lookup context with overrides.
