Engineers are presented with a large amount of information both in the calendar view and WO view in the Field Service App. My idea is to have some sort of visual indicator in the calendar view (or WO if that's not possible) to help give instant feedback on something. The use case is around Parts - so was thinking that a traffic light system with simple red, orange and green indicators to help tell the engineer the status of parts ordered for the WO he is involved with.
So for example - a red indicator if parts have been ordered but not available
orange if some parts are available but some have not been processed
and green if all ordered parts are available for the work order.
I can think of other applications for the indicators to be mapped to but in our business this would be the most important thing for the engineers at the moment. By having the indicators on the calendar view of the WO's they would be able to quickly assess if they need to take further action without having to click a number of times to see what is available and what was ordered on a previous WO.
What is the underlying problem do you intend to solve with this idea?
Engineers have a lot of information in front of them when they look at their calendar view or WO in the Field Service App so a visual indicator like this helps them to asses and take action where required - significantly speeding up their workflow
How is the problem being addressed today, if at all?
Today the engineer has to go into the work order and check what parts are ready for pickup and also view what was ordered in a previous work order.
