When creating an auto entitlement rule picklists are free text

In ServiceMax Setup, when creating an auto entitlement rule adding criteria to it and selecting a picklist field like 'order status' the value field is free text and is not showing me the picklist values. I am concerned that this causes problems if the value added is not exactly matching the picklist value. Also if this value is in a language other than English when the picklist is used for multiple languages.

Can you advise why this field doesnt show the picklist values. Also how would this work if the value input is a translation instead of the original English picklist value.

We have seen this in a number of different places within ServiceMax setup. Other examples are 'Event Subject Rules' and 'Event Hover Rules'.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for posting this, as it's a good find.  What browser are you using, as there was an issue with IE11 and hover rule creation at one point.  Not sure if you have a case on this opened already, but it might be a good for investigating if you can open a case with support on this.

Thanks,

ChrisM.

There are a good number of configuration areas in ServiceMax where a popup to select a picklist value would be very handy - just like Salesforce. Unfortunately, you will have to work with free text fields for now. Admittedly, this can be a frustrated aspect of ServiceMax

Chris Mikutel, thanks for your reply. I am using chrome and do not believe this is related to my browser. This is a deficiency in the ServiceMax product.

Matt Feeney, thanks for your reply. The entry screens within ServiceMax have been built without the picklists in a number of places, I agree. I will create an idea for this but I do not consider this handy, I consider this a standard feature that ServiceMax should have. When considering a solution the ability to accurately and quickly configure is a factor.

New Idea for this -

Re: When creating an auto entitlement rule picklists are free text

Hi Members,

Not having the picklist value is a problem that must be addressed by SMAX, if not customers have to create validation rules, checks, or Workflows which can also impact the system's performance.

Another big issue is how to address the multi-language picklists.

Please (smax support) advice on those topics before customers build complex solutions(old gaz industrty).

Best regards,

Bass
