Work Detail - Request/Receipt Get Price

Jump to solution

Has anyone had any experience with utilizing 'Get Price' on a Work Detail set with a record type of 'Request/Receipt'? SET008 (Work Order Parts Request Price Book setting) is set properly.  There does not seem to be much documentation on this sort of record type in the user guide.

The JavaScript-based Advanced Get Price, which works in browser as well as in all mobile apps with / without internet connectivity, does not support price calculation for Request/Receipt type Work Detail lines. Get Price is supported only for Estimate and Usage/Consumption record types.

The old version of Get Price was based on Apex web service and it supported price calculation for Request/Receipt records also. The setting you refer to is related to this old functionality. This old Get Price was supported in older versions of iPad app and that too only when there was connectivity

Thank you Meenakshi! I will figure out an alternate route.

Would you be able to help with getting the User Guide updated? Winter '15 SP User Guide still points to this functionality as being current.  It may help to get the user guide in line with the changes.

" To automatically calculate the price of a product, check the Use Price Book checkbox and

click Get Price. Note that the price is calculated only if a valid pricebook is configured for

Work Order Request/Receipt Lines. To enter a price manually, uncheck the Use Price Book

checkbox."
