The "Notes and Attachments" related list that we have on all objects will become obsolete in Lightning. The way to go is to move to "Files" which is a new way to store documents in Salesforce with better features around Preview, attachment to multiple records, sharing, size, versioning, view control, etc

That's correct, Michael. Currently, we plan to support Salesforce Files within ServiceMax app in SUM18.
Quick update: Support for Salesforce files on the web is targeted for 18.3, while mobile support is planned for 19.1.

We integrate with Nintex (formally Drawloop) Doc Generation and DocuSign for our Service reports.
Currently in Classic within DocuSign we have a custom settings via SF Connect Objects where our attachment (the Service Report) attaches the signed report to the Work Order in the "Notes & Attachments" section upon completion of the Envelope.
