Picklists should be ordered according to use

Picklists should be ordered according to use

The order that picklists are displayed should be ordered according to use (Or at least have the option to configure this way). From a usability design perspective we should be making interactions with the system as easy and swift as possible.

If the system could learn from how users which item is being selected from the picklist and therefore arrange the most used item at the top and so forth then this would drive faster workflows and usability.

We are currently considering something that is relatively similar in functionality - which is to have a "Suggested" section in both picklist and Actions (Wizards and steps) where we can display list of suggested items based on some algorithm. The idea is that the algorithm can be expanded to include some AI or other context rather than be strictly usage based.
