Realtime data validation on Checklist

Realtime data validation on Checklist

Team - WIN17 came up with a feature of data validation on checklist. This is a very good feature as it gives a lot of controls to ensure that checklist results are captured accurately. But the data validation happens only on "Submit" action

It will be great if we can have real-time data validation on checklist (both online/offline), so that when a user enters results on checklist they are prompted with error message (Or may be on "Save" or going to next section of checklist)

In our business scenario some of our checklists are long and can take upto an hour for user to complete (based on all tests they need to perform). So if he/she then tries to submit the checklist and encounter data validation issues, they might end up wasting a lot of time inputting all the data and also performing the tests

Please let me know if there is a solution for this already ? Else i feel this will be a value added feature for customers

Thoughts?

Hi Roni,

In 18.2 (Spring 18) we moved the validation up to the section level in FSA (Tablet). So when you try to move to the next section, any validation errors would surface then.

In FSA Phone, we're considering having validations at a field level, so that they occur when you step off of a field. However, if you never stepped into the field, then you wouldn't see those errors until you tried to go to the next section.

Hope this helps!

Mike
