Time field should be input directly, select HH/MM from drop-down picklist is a big time consuming

Our users complained about the time field for each time stamp. When they entering a time from browser (ex. Initial Response time, Complete Time...), they have to select the hour and minute from the drop-down picklist which cause a big time consuming and very bad work efficiency.

99% of every application allows you to type in time and date and Servicemax should do this as default too.

What is the underlying problem do you intend to solve with this idea?
1. Bad work efficiency2. Accurate Data → Because we can`t get accurate time if this field is not user friendly
How is the problem being addressed today, if at all?
All Servicemax users have to scroll down and select the HH/MM every time entering a time.

I think the challenge has been providing a user interface that serves traditional (non-touch) enabled laptop users, touch enabled laptop/tablet devices. Does it make sense to create one UI for traditional laptop and another UI for touch enabled devices? For touch enabled device users, we found that they usually do not like user interface that requires typing - using virtual or physical keyboard.

The FSA slider concept works to improve this up to a point, but the FSA UI is not available in the online SFMs.  In any case, we have posted a similar Idea where user should be able to define time entry blocks.

This would greatly reduce number of clicks.  Please see and vote for Ideas posted by Ramesh Kotamareddy along these lines.

Hi Guo: We've made significant improvements to date and time input in our more recent releases. However, you will need to upgrade to the Lightning Experience to take advantage of this. Once you do, date and time input on Servicemax screens will be virtually identical to Salesforce.
