Default values defined in the SFDC field definition are not set automatically when creating a record via a ServiceMax SFM.
As a workaround we need to set the default value in every SFM creating this specific record or by creating a trigger/flow setting the value on creation.
This is not ideal as objects and fields are always defined in SFDC.
Please consider this idea as an enhancement.
For example, the Servicemax side often did not follow the default value on the Salesforce side of checkbox.
Especially mobile apps sometimes operated without following the default values.
Yes we do not set values defined at SFDC field definition when record is created from SFM delivery screen. But field will be set with default value on save if it is not edited on delivery screen. Suggestion is to not add those fields to page layout if requirement doesn't need the value to set by the end user at run time.
We do not download default values defined at SFDC field definition on mobile devices. Hence on mobile devices local save will not set default save. To maintain consistent in behavior between web and mobile delivery suggestion is to set value in the 'Mapping' section of the SFM.
