SFM Layout Online vs FSA

Any custom SFM layout does not have same behavior Online and FSA. All Text fields on FSA show in one row instead of 2 columns as configured on Designer. But online SFM renders the layout as configured, this give different user experience Online and FSA. FSA layout is completely misaligned due to Text fields and we can't control behavior as per our requirement.

At Related list/Line level: Edit shows fields in one column Online instead of 2 columns. This is major User experience concern and is not aligned with FSA layout, which is very easy to access and update. If I have more than 6-8 fields mapped then user experience is not good as we have scroll down multiple times access all fields.

FSA: I can see more than 10 fields at a time without scrolling down.

Online: I can see 4 fields and scroll down to see more fields.

Server 18.2 & FSA 3.4.4.

Sandeep Reddy Musku​ : Aligning the header page layout in FSA is in 19.2 plan. The change is intended to keep the layout as defined in the designer page layout - when the device is in landscape mode.

Currently we support only single column view on Extended Edit. We show up to 8 fields without scrolling.

Added to backlog for evaluation, will get back on this.

Supporting two column view be applicable only on lightning view. Plan is to drive it via property on SFM designer. Admin can define whether it has to two column or single column view on extended edit. 

Just wanted to know if it helps, if we provide user option to switch view in extended edit rather than admin defining the view. This way user can determine how the view must be.

@shivaranjini_g  Admin should be given option to configure default view. For us it will be 2 columns because laptops have horizontal layout and they should 2 colums and if possible 3(but it is not the standard). If the user gets option to change it as per their need then that would be added advantage. Based on major population feedback, Admin can configure either 1 or 2 columns. If we are leaving it User then we should update training documents on how configure it and most of the user do not go through training documents due to various contraints. So, we would force the user to live with the layout what they see. I hope these details give you more insight to finalize the approach.

With 19.2 release we allow admin to configure edit(extended edit) layout at related list/line level in 1 column or 2 column view. 

In the Properties section on detail tab, set 'No of display columns' as 2.  Online delivery will display detail line extended edit layout in two column view. Any value apart from 2 will be considered as single column view.

This property is respected in lightning mode only.
