Can I use a SFM to run a report?

Would it be possible to run a specific report from a SFM in a page view e.g.  product stock overview on stocking location?

Kind regards for your reply

Re: Can I use a SFM to run a report?

Hi Bram,

Yes, you can create an 'SFM Custom Action' to launch an SFDC report previously created. You will need to create the SFDC report first and then include it as a URL action type for the SFM Custom Action.

If you need to run the report specifically for the location where the SFM is located,  and not all stocking location, you will have to do a bit of modification (hack) to the url.

Thanks,

Godo

Re: Can I use a SFM to run a report?

Hi Bram de Jong,

Here in a little more details on how to do this

  1. Create your report you would like to display and add the filter(s) needed and make sure the filters doen not contain any value. As an example I have used the Standard ServiceMax report called "Stock Quantity By Location" and added the following filters:
  2. Now save and run the report and copy the URL from the browser (is should say something like "https://xxx.salesforce.com/00O20000006VoK6####" and copy it somewhere for later use
  3. Now create the Custom SFM ( SVMX setup / Service Flow Manager / SFM Custom Actions ) and create a new Custom Action for the Location. In this you fill in the following:

    Note:
    • Put the ID (https://xxx.salesforce.com/00O20000006VoK6####) from the url of the report in the field "URL To Launch"
    • In the parameters, use pv0 as the parameter name and choose the value you want to send to the filter.  pv0 will parse the value to the first filter of your report. If want to use multiple dynamic filters, you can use pv1, pv2, etc.

More on passing parameters to reports, see: pragmaticforce: Passing Report Criteria via Dynamic Links

I hope this helps. Good luck!
