Can we create 'Define PM Plans' SFM button on top of Warranty terms

Jump to solution

Hi Guys, currently for Active Service contracts we are creating PM Plans and automating PM Work Orders. But for Products which are under warranty have Warranty terms instead of Service Contracts so in that case how can we automate the PM process? Can we create an SFM transaction like how we have 'Define PM Plans' SFM button on Service contract object or else are we supposed to follow any other process?

For the products which are not associated with a Service Contract or for the ones that are under warranty, there are alternate ways to automate PM plan. Just like we have a SFM on Service Contract to achieve this, we have similar SFM's for the objects Installed Product, Account and Location. You can relate the Products which are under warranty to any of these objects and make use of these SFM's supported for these objects. For eg: you can directly create a PM plan from the Installed Product. If the Installed Product belongs to a Location or Account, you can create PM plan based on this Location or Account

Thank You! but I cannot find the Last PM date field for PM Plan on Installed product object. Will it be available?

Last PM Date Field is not available on the Installed Product Object. The scheduling related PM fields are available on the PM Schedule object which is a related object to PM Plan object.
