How to import installed products in bulk

Jump to solution

Using the Installed Product SFM to assign serialized product to a Location is fine when only adding 1 or 2 units at a time, but is horrendous if you need to do more. I need to assign 300 serialized products to a location, and don't want to spend all day doing it via the SFM. Is there a way to import this data from a csv or spreadsheet?

Many Thanks...

Nick,

You can do this with the SFDC data loader or other products such as Jitterbit or Mulesoft. Here is a link to the SFDC help doc that will get you started: Insert, Update, or Delete Data Using Data Loader

To enter new data this would be an Insert. an easy way to get the CSV file setup is to export some existing records (to CSV) and then use that as a data map template. If you export all fields you can see which ones are not used...

It's always best to do this in a sandbox first.

extremely powerful tool once you get the hang of it!

Some dataloader also have ability to look up a record ID via another unique identifier (ex: external system unique identifier from an ERP or Install Product Code)
