How to map 2 fields from source to 1 field in target object?

We have a "Create Work Order from Case" custom SFM that needs to have 2 fields (Subject + Description) from the Case get concatenated into our Internal Notes field on the Work Order.  Is this possible?

Hi Joanne,

SFM Mappings are limited to a one-to-one relationship from a source field to a target field. However, I have solution that will allow you to do this.

Solution:

1. Create a custom (long) text field on the Case object.

2. Create a workflow rule on the Case object to execute on create and update. Add a field update to the workflow rule to concatenate the subject and description fields and update the text field (created in step 1).

3. Map the text field (created in step 1) to the Internal Notes field in the SFM mapping of your SFM.

Let me know how this works out for you!

Hi Javed - Thanks for the info and work-around. I'll see if our users

think this is worth the effort but will keep this in mind for critical

updates.
