Inactive Products are included in Product Lookups

My users are selecting Inactive Products when creating IP using the Salesforce "New" button.  Because the Product lookup field is managed, it doesn't allow for a filter for Active Products.  I'd like the managed lookup to be updated.

Re: Inactive Products are included in Product Lookups

Hi Jennifer,

Is there an SFM for users to create new IPs instead of using the Salesforce "New" button? This would be the recommended approach as it also allows you to create filters on managed lookup fields as well as pre-populate other IP fields (Account, Status, Date Installed, etc).

Below is an example of setting a filter for active Products.

More information can be found here: Lookup Configuration

Hope this helps!

Re: Inactive Products are included in Product Lookups

Hi @jennifer_yellin , you could automatically map a new field (something like 'SFM used to create') using your SFM and then build a validation rule that requires it to be checked for the record to be created. This would prevent creation using the browser and force users to use the SFM with your lookup filters.

Regards, Richard
