Add access to Dispatch Console map functionality for countries where Google is not accessible

Would like access to Dispatch Console map funtionality for countries where Google is not accessible, such as China.

Are there any plans to add this funtionality in future releases? What are other customers doing currently where the Map funtionality is not accessible for certain countries?

We are currently on Winter 15', and are planning an upgrade in the Fall to Spring 16'.

This is functionality we are very aware of and will be address with the "Dispatch Console 2.0". I don't think we will be making this update in the current Flex based Dispatch Console. The idea would be to use the map tiles interchangeable so something that than Google Maps can be utilized. With that said, has any customer expressed interest in any specific map tile provider? We've been looking at Open Street Maps (OSM) and Bing Maps. Any other map provider we should be looking at?

Hi Joseph,

I'm not  completely sure of the all the China mapping options, though China did launch back in 2010 it's own map service called Tianditu.cn (English version: http://en.tianditu.com/ ) or "Map World"   国家地理信息公共服务平台“天地图”   天地图API

Has SMAX looked at this option?

Bing Maps: http://www.bing.com/ditu/default.aspx?encType=1&where1=%E5%9B%9B%E5%B7%9D%E7%9C%81%E6%88%90%E9%83%BD...

Thanks,

Hi Joseph,

I've sent the following 3 map options to my subsidiary in China, and only Tianditu could be found in the Appstore and the Google Play Store. However, the other 2 OSM & Bing appears to work for them.

1. Tianditu

2. Open Street Maps (OSM)

3. Bing Maps

Per my subsidiary in China, the most popular maps in China are the two below, and the majority of people use either on their smart phones as well.

http://map.baidu.com/

http://ditu.amap.com/

Are either of these on the Product Roadmap for DC 2.0? Also, when is DC 2.0 set to be available?

Thanks again,

Sonia

Is there any update from "Dispatch Console 2.0"?

It's critical for China user to use this tool.

Kind Regards,

David

Open Street Maps, in addition to Google, will be available at GA (Feb 2019).  In 2019, we will also plan on adding a Chinese map provider, most likely Baidu.

Hello Mayhul Jain

Support sent me an update last week that the Product Manager advised that the Service Board will have Open Street Maps as the default map provider which will be viewable in locations such as China.

Are there still plans to also implement Baidu?

Thank you,

Sonia

We will be exploring Baidu in the future (it is a roadmap item).  Fyi, OSM will work in China.
