Apparently you can configure "Field Value Maps" (Dependent Picklist fields) in MAX which are not supported in the one place where you actually need them which is in Service Board itself.

Further more, the picklist field "Status" on the Appointment object which is a standard field of Service Board cannot even be used to configure a field dependency at all. It behaves as a picklist field so it should be able to set this field up as a controlling field. It contains the appointment status and we want to set it up to control the dependent field called "Declined Reason"

Please add support that these work there. We use then on Events, Appointments and Jobs!

What is the underlying problem do you intend to solve with this idea?
Reduce picklist options in line with Salesforce regarding dependent picklist fields
How is the problem being addressed today, if at all?
No solution, you can configure it but it is not working in Service Board
