In dispatch console it was possible to search for a WO by simply typing in the number without wildcards (e. g. 4711).
In Service Board this only works with wildcards (e. g. *4711 or *4711*).
Also in SVMX web in general no wildcards for any kind of search are necessary.
Search functionality should be the same in all tools.
Fair point, but unfortunately the behaviour in SB is driven by the underlying technology and this is not something we currently plan to change. We are aware of this discrepancy, and will continue looking for ways to bring it closer to the rest of the application. @mayhul
Following up on @gabriele_bodda comment regarding alternative ways of doing this, we spoke to our team responsible for Elastic Search and think there might be a way to add the wildcards by default to every search to it pulls up results you are seeking. If we are able to include it in this release, we will update this Idea.
Below is a quick a video clip on how we altered the search behavior so you an put in a part of the work order number (or any other string) and it will add wildcards to it by default. This will be pushed out to your Sandboxe tenants on Feb 16th and then your Production tenant four weeks later.
Great - that looks fine for me. Waiting for the update in the systems.
