Technician to Service Team association using validity date/time

Currently when a technicien switches from ServiceTeam A to B, dispatchers and Optimax engine cannot take into account the change before the new information is saved in the database. This lack of Technician / ServiceTeam association validity dates prevents both dispatchers and Optimax engine to consider accurate information (ServiceTeam's capacity) for the future.

At Energir, technicians could switch ServiceTeams several times within the same week. It happens also that a technician could work for 2 different ServiceTeams within the same day.

For example, Technician could work with ServiceTeam A on Monday and Tuesday. Then he is planned to move to Service Team B on Wednesday and Thursday, and returns to ServiceTeam A on Friday. Without proper validity dates and time, dispatchers and Optimax cannot consider the right ServiceTeam capacity.

Another point is that an Energir technician could also have different working hours when working on different ServiceTeams.

Having such ServiceMax validity date/time functions on Technician and ServiceTeam association would increase dispatcher visibility and Optimax route quality.

 

How is the problem being addressed today, if at all?

Currently, our SAP system handles Technician/ServiceTeam validity dates. Upon ServiceTeam association validity date change, integration layer makes sure to launch technician non-availability (SVMX_Event object) creation in ServiceMax in order to block capacity for ServiceTeam A. Once ServiceTeam date change is reached, integration deletes the non-availability and changes technician to ServiceTeam B. Even with this solution, dispatchers and Optimax do not have full visibilty.
