Use Case: Dispatchers often have the need to schedule a job that requires multiple appointments/visits. With this feature, dispatchers can schedule multiple appointments for the same job. This functionality would also work for jobs that have multiple resources.

Re: Design: Multiple Appointment Jobs

Hi Malik,

The UX is good on SB. We have custom multiple event schedule of WO to same Technician(s) on DC using Field update feature. We would like to see same feature available on SB with same or better UX. The feature demonstrated is good if we have different schedule for each day but if I have 40hr job to be scheduled each day for same Technician 8to5 for 5 days then it involve manual steps for planner. I don’t want to drag and drop recurring schedule manually for each day. This would be 5times scheduling of same WO to same a technician at same time everyday. If you can give us option to define recurrence on Appointment window like daily or weekly recurrence and end date of recurrence then it would be efficient. Today, we have fields to support this feature on WO which are set from event window in DC. Now, we are trying to add the same fields on Job and upon first time creation of Appointment and synced to SFDC; code in Event Trigger creates recurring events and sync back to SB. We are trying to make it work on Beta SB. This approach has issue as Planner would not see all Appointments until round trip of Appointment sync is completed on SB.

I am trying to see if SB can create recurring appointments with in SB immediately and create events in SFDC. This will be more efficient and effective for planner. Let me know if you need more details. However, @gabriele_bodda  has complete details on how this feature is implemented in our org in DC and can help you understand use case.

Re: Design: Multiple Appointment Jobs

Thanks so much for the feedback and valuable input. This is definitely a fair ask and something we will be considering as we continue to think through all aspects of theis design. For the first iteration, we are taking the initial steps in getting this feature available.

Re: Design: Multiple Appointment Jobs

Hi Malik,

Would we be able to do the same for multiple technicians (multiple resources)?

In the current DC, you can schedule multiple tech's and have them show on the DC. Though on the WO itself you can only see the "main" tech assigned to that WO, and using email alerts on the "main" tech would receive the emails alerts.

Is this addressed with the SB?

Thanks for posting!

Thanks

Sonia

Re: Design: Multiple Appointment Jobs

Hi Sonia,

Thanks for your feedback. While it's not shown in the particular example, we are definitely planning to have the ability to utilize multiple resources.

Re: Design: Multiple Appointment Jobs

Hi @malik_khan

Would this be in the SB for Admins V2 documentation listed here, and I'm just missing it?

Thanks again!

Sonia

Re: Design: Multiple Appointment Jobs

Currently, this feature is not in that documentation. Once it is implemented, we will update the doc accordingly.
